Beijing Auto Show 2008 LIVE: Beijing 700R Supercar Concept

230408, Beijing Autoshow. Beijing Automotive brought 3 supercar concepts to the show, two sportsedans and one coupe called 700R. This car is from the same company that showed the Beijing Auto works (BAW) B40 and B60 Jeeps where I posted about yesterday.

Technically Beijing is not the same brand as BAW, Beijing Automotive is an umbrella under which 9 different brands reside close together which sometimes overlapping ranges and similar names.

But all cars were at the same boot on the show and this is a truly striking concept, no more than a concept because as usually it's just a mock up whitout any engine or interior.

The most surprising is that this car is made up by Beijing Auto, a company that until now didn't like too much attention. It's by the way the same company that also has joint ventures with Mercedes, Chrysler and Hyundai.

This is one of their own, the 700R might put them together with Geely and Soueast in the new Chinese supercar-league. That is, if they have an engine and interior, which none of them have now...
